Silverlight Software Engineer Needed!
03-May-2011Work-at-home Silverlight Software Engineer
We’re looking for one brilliant programmer to complete our team. The best we can find nationwide.
We’re building a highly scalable, secure cloud-based application for the government and non-profit sectors. We use Silverlight with RIA services on SQL Server 2008.
Are we a start-up, begging for dollars?
Or a sclerotic business forever patching our dead technology?
Neither
We’re an established and profitable business with hundreds of installations queued and waiting for your work to reach their hands. Our SaaS product is new and our team is small, so your contribution will be early and essential. That’s why you must be an exceptional talent.
How would you work with us? What would you do?
You would work from your dedicated home office on the toughest programming challenges we face. Security. High-speed data retrieval. Creative user experiences that render complex problems simple for everyday use.
We’re an Agile development shop, with monthly sprints. We keep meetings informal and to a minimum. We work closely with our customers, and with technical and graphic advisors whose work is known around the globe.
Your educational background:
- A four-year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or the Physical Sciences.
- You loved the science and the math. You ranked at or near the top of your class.
Your work experience:
- A minimum of 2 years full-time commercial development experience in .NET.
- (we don’t ask for a lot of experience, because it doesn’t take you long to learn)
You must have mastered these technologies, not merely be familiar or have a ‘working knowledge.’
- C# or VB.NET, preferably both
- SQL stored procedures
- Deep understanding of algorithms and data structures
- Silverlight or WPF
Plus
- Outstanding communications skills, because if you can’t write and speak clearly, you can’t work offsite.
Desired skills:
These are a big plus, but they don’t supplant the requirements.
- RIA Services and Entity Framework
Most important:
Some developers are a whole lot faster than others. They grasp complex concepts and build them simply. They tackle challenges that stump others. You must be that kind of developer to apply for this job.
When you send in your resume, please indicate at least two examples of how you solved killer problems with unique and creative solutions.
We will test you. We will challenge you. Be ready.
